With many local history archives to see and read, you will understand Barlborough from as far back as the Doomsday Book, where it was named 'Barleburg'.

New items of interest are constantly being sourced and our displays are updated with new information regularly, each month we focus on a certain topic as that months featured item;

We are currently researching mining deaths in the local area and would be grateful for any information you may have about affected family members.  Please contact us.

Group visits are very welcome at the centre; the centre relies of volunteer support so acknowledgment of any group visit is much appreciated;

Relax as you browse through documents and photographs in our comfortable seating area, with files including Spinkhill, Barbers Row,Low Common, Barlborough Hall and Park Hall there is something to interest everyone.
